 EUROLAN-2025 Summer School on NLP in the Age of Complex Networks and
Agentic AI

The 17th in the series of EUROLAN biennial Schools on Natural Language
Processing
Content and Goals

EUROLAN-2025 will bring together researchers and experts in *machine
learning, artificial intelligence (AI), reasoning systems, and
computational linguistics* applied to natural language processing (NLP),
with a special focus on the interaction between NLP, complex networks, and
agentic AI.

Following the tradition of previous EUROLAN schools (see past editions
<https://conferences.info.uaic.ro/eurolan/2025/?page_id=14023>), the
programme will include:

   - Tutorials, offering in-depth insights into key concepts
   - Hands-on exercises, applying lecture content to real-world problems
   and developing small-scale applications
   - Brainstorming discussions, encouraging direct interaction with experts
   and fostering collaborative discussions
   - Networking and social evenings
   - City tour, gala dinner, excursion

EUROLAN is open to master's and PhD students as well as young researchers
and practitioners. Exceptional undergraduates with a strong interest in
Complex Networks, Agentic AI, and NLP are also welcome.
School Structure and Topics

   - Graph-Based Representations of Text and Knowledge
   - Social Network Analysis for Linguistic Modeling
   - Influence Propagation and Discourse Dynamics in Online Platforms
   - Multimodal NLP: Integrating Text, Image, and Speech Processing
   - NLP and Agentic AI

The School will include a half-day visit in the city of Timișoara and a
half-day excursion to the West Romanian Region, where participants will
discover cultural sites and traditions (including local food and wine).

Registration and Fees

Those interested in attending should fill in the registration form
available here

than *31 August 2025*. For a reduced fee, please apply before *15 August
2025* by sending your CV, a letter of intent, and an abstract to Adrian
Spătaru: adrian.spataru at e-uvt.ro. Since the number of participants is
limited, you will be contacted shortly after registration concerning
acceptance.

*Fees:*

   - Students: 500 EUR
   - Non-students: 600 EUR

The fee provides access to all tutorials and hands-on sessions and includes
materials, coffee breaks, lunches, and social events. Accommodation is not
included.
Important Dates

   - 15 August - Last day to apply for a student grant
   - 31 August - Notification of student grant awards
   - 1 September - Background reading materials sent to registered
   participants
   - 14 September - Onsite registration
   - 15 September - Morning registration and Opening
   - 15–20 September (morning) - EUROLAN-2025 School
   - 20 September (afternoon) - Excursion

SYNASC Related Event

EUROLAN-2025 is closely coordinated with SYNASC-2025
<https://synasc.ro/2025/>, held 22-25 September 2025 at the West University
of Timișoara. Students with accepted papers in SYNASC or its workshops
receive a 50% EUROLAN fee reduction. PhD students are encouraged to submit
to the PhD Special Session.
Accommodation

Low-cost accommodation will be available in the University's hostel (single
or double rooms). Alternatively, participants can book hotels in
Timișoara (list
