Subject: [Jobs] Open PhD Researcher Position on Dynamic Contextual
Knowledge Graphs for Robotics at CITEC, Bielefeld University
To: semantic-web at w3.org <semantic-web at w3.org>
There is an open PhD researcher position on dynamic contextual knowledge
graphs for robotics in the Semantic Computing Group [1] at the Cognitive
Interaction Technology Center (CITEC) [2], Bielefeld University in
collaboration with the Honda Research Institute [3].
The successful candidate will work on developing new knowledge
representation approaches and formalisms to support robots in reasoning
about the changing environment in which they are embedded. The goal is to
develop a new generation of knowledge graph technology that allows to
automatically update evolving models of the environment as the robot
perceives changes in the world. The dynamic contextual knowledge graphs
will support robots in reasoning about changes in the world and to update
internal models of the environment to provide contextualisation for
external events.
Position requirements:
- MSc in computer science, software engineering, intelligent systems or
related field
- demonstrated ability to work scientifically (e.g. through Master thesis
or publications)
- strong analytical, conceptual and communicative skills
- ability to work in a larger team
- strong programming skills
The following aspects are a plus:
- experience with knowledge graphs, ontologies, Semantic Web technology
- experience with the development of robotic platforms
The position is available for three years starting from January 2023 and
offers the possibility to earn a PhD degree. The group offers an
intellectually stimulating and international environment with sufficient
freedom to pursue own research interests. There is no teaching involved.
Knowledge of German is not required.
The application deadline is October 14th. Please send your applications
