PhD and PostDoc positions are available at the Database and Artificial Intelligence Group at the Institute of Logic and Computation (TU Wien, Austria). We invite highly motivated applicants interested both in the theory and practice of
*Description Logics,
*Rule-based Languages,
*Semantic Web,
*Reasoning about Actions and Change,
*Databases,
*Artificial Intelligence.
In particular, we are seeking to strengthen our research teams in two foundational research projects [1, 2] funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF), and the industry-oriented project [3] funded by the Vienna Business Agency. Depending on research tasks, funding is available for up to 3.5 years.
PhD students would join the LogiCS doctoral program [4], which offers top research expertise, and a stimulating and supportive environment. Vienna is a beautiful city that offers excellent quality of life, while TU Wien is a great place for professional growth (e.g., the Austrian Science Fund offers multiple funding opportunities for young researchers to advance their independent scientific careers).
Interested candidates should contact Mantas Simkus (simkus at dbai.tuwien.ac.at). If you are interested in the industry-oriented project [3], which is in cooperation with Campfire Solutions and the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (Italy), you can directly write to jobs at campfire-solutions.com.
