The Department of Computer Science of University of Oxford, has several vacancies for postdoctoral research assistants to work in the area of logic based knowledge representation and reasoning, under the direction of Professor Ian Horrocks and Dr. Bernardo Grau. The posts are funded by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), and by the EU Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). The posts are available from late summer/autumn 2012, and will be of between two and four years duration.
The successful applicant will join an internationally leading and rapidly growing research group, with research interests ranging from the logical foundations of information systems through to their implementation and deployment in large scale applications. For more information see:

Applicants should have, or expect shortly to obtain, a PhD in computer science, artificial intelligence, or some other relevant discipline, and should have experience in logics, automated reasoning or database theory.
These posts are full time appointments offered on a fixed term contract basis of between 24 and 48 months and have a salary on the University grade 07 scale, currently £29,249 - £35,938 p.a.
