Dear all,
I am please to announce that the University of Manchester's School of
Computer Science now has a new
Centre for Doctoral Training in Computer Science
that proposes a new model of PhD training which combines the deep
technical research study associated with the UK PhD with training and
practical experience in creativity and innovation and scientific
evaluation, and gives students experiences practicing their research
skills by working with users from outside academia.
The first students will start in September this year,
http://cdt.cs.manchester.ac.uk/programme/
...and there is funding available for home and EU students:

Should you be interested in doing a PhD with us around Description
Logics and their usage for ontology engineering, please do not
hesitate to contact us (applications will be handled centrally, see http://cdt.cs.manchester.ac.uk/apply/
  ), cheers, Uli
