[DL] tableau or tableauX ?

bonjour,
tableau is a French word,
two usual translations of "tableau" are "table" and "blackboard",
"X" indicates the plural of the word,
sometimes people use the plural "tableaux" and sometimes not,
there is (as far as I know) no difference between the two words,
