CALL FOR PAPERS
The congress of the Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence (AI*IA)
is a
traditional two-yearly meeting of researchers working on theory and
applications
in Artificial Intelligence. The 8th congress will take place in Pisa,
following
the editions of Trento (89), Palermo (91), Torino (93), Firenze (95), Roma
(97),
Bologna (99) and Bari (01). The congress will be centered on invited speaker
seminars, scientific paper talks, system and prototype demonstrations,
tutorials, panels and workshops on specific topics both on methods and on
innovative applications of artificial intelligence. We hope that the 2003
meeting will strengthen awareness that artificial intelligence is assuming a
central role in the competitive strategies of the present scenario of rapid
changes. Artificial intelligence can significantly support economic and
scientific development due to the rapidly emerging demand for innovative
technologies in many application areas.
Topics of interest include, but are not restricted to:
AI architectures
Automated reasoning
Cognitive models
Connectionist models
Distributed AI
Knowledge discovery
Knowledge engineering
Knowledge representation
Intelligent interfaces
Machine learning
Model based reasoning
Multi-agent systems
Natural language processing
Perception and vision
Planning and scheduling
Robotics
and, also, applications of AI in fields including Environment, Cultural
Heritage
and Activities, Teaching, Medicine, Space sciences, Social services,
Insurance
and financial systems, Information systems, World Wide Web and so on.
