Dear members of the DL community,

It is our great pleasure to announce the Description Logic (DL) Seminar Series. The goal of the DL Seminar Series is to complement the DL workshop, strengthening the DL community and fostering collaboration and exchange throughout the year. Meetings will be held about once a month during the 2-3pm CET Friday timeslot (usually first Friday of the month), with talks of 30-40 minutes plus time for discussion.

We are excited to kick off the seminar on May 5th at 2pm with a talk by Franz Baader (TU Dresden) who will share his view on the history of description logics:

Title: The DL World According to Baader or DL Geschichten vom Franz

Abstract: This talk will give an overview of research in Description Logic in the last 30 years, shamelessly focusing on results obtained by the speaker.

The following two seminars will then be:

June 2nd at 2pm CET: Uli Sattler (University of Manchester), title: TBA
June 30th at 2pm CET: Diego Calvanese (Free University of Bozen-Bolzano and Umea University), title: TBA

Please block these dates in your calendar! The Zoom link for the first meeting is

Passcode: 273104

It will be communicated again via the DL mailing list and KR discord channel (see below) shortly before the talks.

Best wishes,
Ana, Magdalena, Meghyn, and Jean
